Position Description:
Analyzes risk exposures and collateral requirements using stress testing and scenario analyses. Analyzes market events and provides ad-hoc exposure summaries to estimate the impact on client portfolios. Leverages data analytics, stress testing, and liquidity to analyze market and operational risks. Engages interested parties and facilitates discussions, meetings, and walkthroughs of risk policy and analytics. Identifies key risks and mitigating factors of potential investments, such as asset types and values, legal and ownership structures, professional reputations, customer bases, or industry segments. Drives innovation using complex data sets to identify risk and determine controls, parameters, and risk methodologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Performs daily monitoring of client portfolios to identify material risk exposures.
Interacts regularly with account managers and business and risk partners on risk-related issues.
Enhances risk analytics and trend analysis.
Partners with the Risk Product Development team for ongoing enhancements to risk tools.
Assesses and identifies the inherent risks in a business or activity.
Communicates complex issues by condensing them into concise summary reports and presentations.
Locates opportunities to enhance existing risk reporting and develops new key risk indicators.
Contributes to the development of risk management systems.
Gathers risk-related data from internal or external resources.
Designs presentations and reports using data analytics to make conclusions about data and determine risk controls.
Identifies risks and determines controls by evaluating complex data analytics and analyzing market related data sets.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Risk Manager (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis and coordinating risk mitigation in a financial services environment using SQL, Yellowbrick, and Hive tools.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Risk Manager (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis and coordinating risk mitigation in a financial services environment using SQL, Yellowbrick, and Hive tools.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) writing SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and interpret data as well as executing business directives within a financial services environment using SQL and Hive.
DE performing data analytics to locate trends and support decision-making using statistical modeling techniques including linear regression and time series in Hive and Yellowbrick.
DE performing risk management by analyzing portfolio strategies using stress testing and scenario analysis in SQL and Hive.
DE preparing and presenting data driven market analysis and reports to senior management using Hive, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
Salary: $115,500.00 - $139,100.00 /year.
