Position Description:

Removes system impediments and accelerates value delivery by leveraging the Agile framework and its corresponding ceremonies/practices, such as the backlog maintenance, sprint planning, daily Scrum, and retrospectives. Drives team improvement opportunities and supports continuous improvement of system processes by leveraging technical project management tools such as JIRA, Kanban, and Lean. Maintains and updates technical process metrics and artifacts by leveraging Agile software development lifecycle methodologies such as SCRUM. Supports adoption and accelerates overall team performance by consistent use of tools such as Jira, Miro, Flow Metrics, Confluence and MS Teams. Improves efficiency and value delivered according to data metrics and system design requirements. Plans, initiates, and manages information technology (IT) projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all work is tracked in the software product backlog and accurately balanced across team members.
  • Maintains and updates squad performance metrics like burn-down charts and artifacts to ensure accurate and clear feedback to the squad members and transparency to other partners.
  • Leads and guides the work of technical staff.
  • Serves as liaison between business partners and technical stakeholders of project deliverables.
  • Plans project stages and assesses business implications for each stage.
  • Monitors progress to ensure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
  • Coordinates with the team to plan and execute on the highest priority work as per the product roadmap.
  • Coaches and mentors junior team members.
  • Participates in a community of practice, provides Scrum knowledge to members of the product area, and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement within the product area.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Product Management (or closely related occupation) managing project mainframe and Web-based application development initiatives within a healthcare benefits and financial services administration environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Manager, Product Management (or closely related occupation) managing project mainframe and Web-based application development initiatives within a healthcare benefits and financial services administration environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) leading distributed application development teams to develop enterprise software solutions according to Scaled Agile Framework -- Scrum and Kanban -- within a healthcare benefits and financial services administration and an onshore/offshore environment.
  • DE performing Program Increment (PI) planning, including developing PI objectives, schedules, and resources; executing quality control and release management plans using Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, and Miro; and tracking the execution of features and capabilities using standard Scaled Agile measurement domains -- outcomes, flow, and competency.
  • DE managing fixed income investment technology projects -- work requirements, stories, and epics – according to Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, using Atlassian Agile suite (Jira, Jira Align, and Confluence), DOMO, and Miro.
  • DE creating monthly, quarterly, and yearly technology reports in vendor project progress, performing business and system analysis of fixed income products, services, and offerings, and defining product changes and enhancements, using Jira, SQL, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud, and Tableau.
