Position Description:
Designs, builds, and deploys applications for pension platform in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins, Maven, and uDeploy). Performs object-oriented software design and development in Java-based applications to manage client pension plans. Analyzes existing system capabilities, identifies gaps or discrepancies, provides scope estimates, establishes system design, tests systems, and debugs software using Java, J2EE, Spring MVC and Spring Core. Supports the recordkeeping and administration of defined benefit plans on behalf of corporate clients, their employees, and retirees. Partners with Systems Analysts and business teams to review large client requirements and complex actuarial calculations. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.

Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

Reviews the progress of system development through Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope and implementes processes for efficient and quality execution of applications.

Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) working on various Enterprise Java applications using Java/J2EE, Restful services, and Spring in support of system integration, acceptance, and performance for production environments.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) working on various Enterprise Java applications using Java/J2EE, Restful services, and Spring in support of system integration, acceptance, and performance for production environments.

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) participating and contributing to design solutions in banking and financial services environments building RESTful APIs for agreed designs to support business and end-users using Java, Spring, Hibernate, Jenkins, and SQL, to build, deploy, and test code for the integration, acceptance, performance, of production environments.

DE developing Web applications using Java/J2EE, Design patterns, Apache Camel, Multithreading, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Spring MVC; and developing event driven applications using Messaging technologies (Apache ActiveMQ).

DE designing use cases for interactive Web applications and analyzing application logs and credential cookies using Splunk and Datadog; and integrating customer facing Web applications to analyze and monitor performance using JMeter, and JProfiler.

DE performing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and version control using Maven, Git, Jenkins, AWS Kubernetes, and Docker; and building and packaging artifacts (with source code quality gate and code coverage) using plug-ins –SonarQube and Jenkins into Artifactory.
