Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop electric vehicle (EV) user models or surrogate models using telematics data.
  • Conduct extensive descriptive analytics on collected data.
  • Analyze, summarize, and present research findings and results through presentations, reports/documents, and publications.
  • Handle large databases, including data collection from EVs, cloud sources, and battery performance data.
  • Clean, process, and organize raw data stored in cloud environments such as Snowflake.
  • Understand and analyze customer behavior to inform future battery design and improvements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related technical field. A Master's degree with a specialization in data analytics or data science is strongly desired. Relevant industry experience can be considered in lieu of a graduate degree.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
  • Expertise in Python, with hands-on experience using machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, and data science packages such as Pandas, Scipy, and Numpy.
  • Experience with Big Data and cloud environments, particularly AWS.
  • Strong attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for empirical research and the ability to answer complex questions with data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Notes:

  • The role requires extensive data processing, cleansing, and manipulation skills.
  • Experience with Snowflake and cloud knowledge is essential.
  • The data engineer will work with internal data to understand EV owner behavior and contribute to the next generation of battery design.
  • Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of customer behavior in the EV market are critical for success in this role.
