Position Summary:

The Manager/Senior Manager, IT Operations is the IT technical support lead in a designated location, responsible for providing onsite technical support, end user training and systems administration.

This individual will respond to a variety of technical support issues, provide IT orientation for new hires and is an expert in the IT systems used in the designated location. This position will work independently, determining the priority of support issues and projects each day, while regularly interacting with all business areas as well as other members of the IT Team.

Responsibilities:

· Diagnose the cause of technical problems in a complex environment and provide effective solutions quickly.

· Gain and maintain expertise in all company and locally used IT systems and procedures.

· Coordinate all local IT operations including new user onboarding, terminations, PC upgrades and network maintenance.

· Train helpdesk team, end users and IT staff on IT systems and procedure

· Setup new laptops, phones, and other IT equipment

· Partner with other IT Operations team members on joint projects and tasks

· Provide ongoing and weekly updates on all tasks, projects and support issues to Senior Management within IT as needed.

Basic Requirements:

· A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a NOC, helpdesk team or onsite IT support.

· Either a BS degree in relevant discipline (Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, etc.) or at least 1 major industry certification (Microsoft, A+, Network+, Cisco etc.)

· Demonstrated ability to work well with other accomplished professionals within and across functions/teams. Willing collaborator.

· Ability to multi-task and shift priorities rapidly to meet tight deadlines.

· Strong background and knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL/Ubuntu) & Win OS (Server, 10/11)

· Previous experience with Slurm cluster job management system

· Previous experience with parallel filesystems (LustreFS, BeeGFS)

· Previous experience with Scientific applications in a Linux cluster environment (Schrodinger suite, CryoSparc, Relion, coot, weasel, orca, chimera/X)

· Strong background and knowledge of networking and hypervisors.

Additional Preferences:

· AS/BS degree strongly preferred.

· Experience working in Life Sciences preferred.

Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $70,500 to $157,300 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
