eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in New York, NY
Job Duties: Develop and maintain scalable and robust infrastructure to support A/B tests for eBay software products, analyzing user engagement metrics and incorporating user feedback to integrate new features. Architect and implement a near-real-time data processing pipeline for continuous monitoring of A/B test results, ensuring data quality and consistency, while also developing self-service portals and dashboards that enable the teams to manage their models, experiments, and resources with minimal infrastructure knowledge. Participate in full-stack development for eBay middleware system to enhance its end-to-end tracking and introduce new features, as well as collaborate with both backend and frontend teams to ensure performance optimization and a seamless user experience. Write code and documentation. Responsible for an entire functional area with in-depth knowledge. Provide guidance, communicate technical risks and trade-offs, and influence decisions. Map business problems to solutions that will be implemented at eBay. Drive ramp, launch, and observability in production. Champion engineering excellence in best practices as well as advanced concepts like security, scalability, performance, and availability. Identify gaps and issues across systems and functional areas, propose solutions, and drive resolution. Take project features and scope them into sub-tasks for ease of execution by others and remove potential issues before they become blockers. Create feature design and test plans.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Management, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience in Java, Python, and JavaScript (3 years).
2. Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools (3 years).
3. Experience in developing and maintaining HTTP servers and RESTful API services using technologies such as Flask and Nginx (3 years).
4. Experience in Machine Learning and Data Analytics techniques, with experience of applying these skills in real-world applications (3 years).
5. Experience in leveraging cloud services for scalable software solutions in cloud-based environments (3 years).
6. Experience utilizing front-end development skills (such as React, HTML, or CSS) with experience building responsive and interactive web applications (3 years).
7. Experience with database management skills (both SQL and NoSQL), and the ability to design and optimize database schemas for performance and scalability (3 years).
8. Experience with the Linux/Unix file system, command-line utilities, and shell scripting, and experience working in Linux/Unix environments (3 years).
9. Experience with automation tools such as WebDriver or Selenium for automating web applications for testing purposes in test automation (3 years).
10. Experience in testing frameworks (such as Pytest or Unittest), with experience in software testing methodologies and experience in writing and maintaining test suites for large-scale software applications (3 years).
Salary: $151,819.00-205,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
