Overview

As the non-financial risk management (NFRM) Americas Capital Planning & Stress Manager, you will partner with all 1st and 2nd Line of Defense areas in Deutsche Bank USA to develop the Operational Risk capital measurements in line with Basel IV and Comprehensive Capital Analysis Review (CCAR) standards. You will actively engage business lines and senior management to develop qualitative and quantitative loss forecasts. This is an opportunity for you to learn the risks at the Firm, dive into what-if scenario developments, adapt to ever changing industry themes, engage directly with internal and external stakeholders, and create links between forecasting methodologies and business-as-usual risk management practices. You are also control-oriented and exercise discipline in support of a well-governed group of processes managed by the NFRM Americas CCAR team.

What You’ll Do

  • You actively support the Operational Stress Loss Estimation delivery for Deutsche Bank USA Corp. which covers Top Risk Identification/Idiosyncratic Scenarios, Material Risk Coverage analysis, and Legal Loss Estimations

  • You will prepare and support the facilitation of key stress loss projection workshops engaging with senior subject matter experts (SMEs) inclusive of the Americas Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leadership team. Key 1st and 2nd Line of Defense (LOD) partnerships include Anti Financial Crime, Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Security and Technology groups, Legal, and 1st LOD business partners in Corporate Bank, Investment Bank and Private Bank

  • As a key contributor to the NFRM Americas forecasting framework, you will work with Risk Methodology (RM) and technology leads who support development and implementation efforts. You’ll maintain our operational loss estimation project plan which is used to provide execution transparency and progress reporting across different Comprehensive Capital Analysis Review (CCAR) governance forums

  • To help support a well-governed group of processes owned by the NFRM Americas CCAR team, you will take ownership of the end-to-end control environment and serve as the go-to contact for Model Risk Management and other review functions

  • You will lead the FR Y-14-Q Schedule E (Operational Loss History) reporting process with a lens for ongoing control, validation, and implementation enhancements

  • As part of a dynamic risk function, you will partner globally to influence synergies and leverage best practice reporting (i.e. Regulatory Capital reporting) and risk management (i.e. scenario analysis) efforts

Skills You’ll Need

  • Experience in Regulatory/risk function, preferably in the Financial Services Industry or with a major Consulting Firm. Dynamic background demonstrating excellence in detail-oriented execution function, supported by strong time management and program management skills. Preferred experience or passion to learn Non-Financial Risk / Operational Risk with exposure to CCAR

  • Ability to interact with internal, external, and industry partners

  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to extract and articulate key messages on paper, ranging from interpretation of new proposed rulings to providing meeting minutes in support of governance forums

  • A proven track record of developing, communicating and successfully executing sound strategies that balance both short-term commitments and longer-term strategic objectives. You are a self-motivated team player who can communicate ideas, information, and challenges clearly and concisely

  • Efficient execution in Excel and Power Point; technically sound in providing updates in various systems

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Knowledge / Having worked in other risk functions

  • Project/Program Management Experience

  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York City office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
