Job Description
Located in Ashburn office, Sr. Manager, Global Security Operations will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the cybersecurity team of 5-10 members in the US region. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and resolving issues related to on-prem and cloud network security devices, security tools, and cybersecurity systems. The position reports to the Cybersecurity Operations Director and requires hands-on involvement during problem identification and resolution activities. It demands a blend of technical expertise and leadership capabilities to ensure the security of Visa's on-prem and cloud environments as well as managing and mentoring a team of cybersecurity analysts.
Essential Functions:
Manage and mentor a team of cybersecurity analysts, providing technical guidance and professional development.
Provides guidance to less-experienced team members. Review and evaluate incidents worked by team members to ensure we adhere to standard procedures and quality entries to the incidents.
Drives innovations within the team.
Participate and drive strategic initiatives.
Provide in-depth technical direction and support for operational security issues.
Support troubleshooting and resolving issues related to security devices and security technologies (firewalls, WAF, proxy, anti-DDoS solutions, cloud security solutions etc).
Provide technical guidance in developing Standard Operating Procedures for technical efforts in security related operational areas.
Oversee the monitoring, analysis, and resolution of network security devices, systems, and tools issues for its team.
Ensure team compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to guarantee timely responses.
Lead, support, or contribute to incident bridges stewardship for timely resolution of internal issues.
Prioritize and handle escalations from within the team and other cybersecurity service lanes.
Analyze and report operational security key performance and risk metrics to drive program improvements.
Coordinate with environment owners for investigation and remediation of monitoring alerts.
Propose automation ideas to gain efficiency and improve processes.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Consistently demonstrate Visa leadership principles.
Maintain and achieve new technical skills for respective team.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
• Work experience as a Network/Security Operations manager or team leader of 5-10 members.
• Understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools.
• Knowledge of systems, application, and fault monitoring tool sets such as Indeni, Splunk, Moloch, QRadar, Solarwinds, NetCool, or similar platforms.
• Functional understanding of packet and protocol analysis from firewalls and other systems using tools like Wireshark to support troubleshooting activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of native cloud-based security monitoring tools.
• General knowledge of networking and routing topology, cybersecurity frameworks, constructs, and auditable standards.
• Effective communication throughout the incident management process to ensure timely and accurate communications, as per documented process.
• Understanding, proficiency, or certification of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts, preferably with knowledge of ServiceNow or other incident and change management tools.
• Functional use of MS Office suite.
• Familiarity with payment transaction message flows and the various types of exceptions that could result in client impacts such as message delivery outages, theft, or fraud.
• Background, experience, or skills to maintain both central and distributed firewall platforms such as Panorama management, and logging infrastructures.
• Background, experience, or skills of Power BI platform and reporting.
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 166,100.00 to 240,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
