Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Tax Technology Manager to join our dynamic team of tax professionals. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Federal and State Compliance, you will partner with the tax team to identify, implement and support technology solutions to maximize operational efficiency. You will collaborate with cross functional stakeholders, including Visa’s internal IT team, to drive process improvements that create efficiencies, mitigate risks, provide strategic insights, and support data management initiatives. Your contributions will transcend the tax technology needs of the entire department. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong understanding of tax technical data analytics, excellent project management and communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively across business functions. Candidates who have proven success implementing process improvements as well as excellent Power Query and Alteryx skills are highly desired.
Essential Functions:
• Evaluate the existing tax technology framework and proactively identify future tax technology needs, including opportunities for process improvements, automation, data management, and application of best practices
• Transform the team’s tax technology vision into a timeline with deliverables: Track and monitor workstream progress, ensure timely reporting of milestones and status of dependencies, monitor risks and issues to escalate, and execute day-to-day project management activities
• Integrate Alteryx tools into process improvements and establish workflow guidelines that support the preparation and review of tax adjustments running through Alteryx
• Serve as a liaison between the tax function and internal IT support as well as external technology partners to improve the understanding of the team’s information technology needs and to drive improvements
• Work with the Visa Finance Strategy team for business requirements and functional testing when implementing process changes or new implementations
• Develop a clear understanding of tax data analytics required to drive strategic insights and facilitate decision making, and help design systems and processes that provide accurate and timely analytics
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot tax systems including OneSource, SharePoint, Alteryx, and Oracle
• Support staff in diagnosing and resolving system issues, provide administrative support, and train team members with regards to new and existing tax software and related processes
• Assist in reviewing, executing, monitoring and documenting internal controls with respect to tax systems and electronic file storage to mitigate risk and maximize data integrity
• Participate in state and local audit data extractions, reconcile tax reporting to the ERP systems where required
• Contribute to tax compliance preparation with regards to data intensive reporting and schedule M calculations
• Research the latest tax technology trends and best practices, evaluate technology options, provide recommendations as needed, and ensure full utilization of existing tax software functionalities
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Minimum 6+ years of tax technology experience within a corporate tax function and/or tax software company
• Experience with OneSource administrative responsibilities and OneSource tools including OSA and Data Query
• Understanding of ERP solutions (Oracle EBS, SAP, Workday) and the impact on tax reporting, fixed assets and general ledger
• Working knowledge of data analytics and data gathering tools, such as Alteryx, Power BI, and Power Query
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with data management and collaboration tools including SharePoint, Power BI workspace, Power Automate, and MS Teams
• Project management skills, focused on achieving milestones and KPIs
• The ability to accurately identify problems and apply strong problem-solving skills to obtain resolution
• General understanding of corporate tax framework, tax compliance, tax reporting, transfer pricing, and tax audit data needs for a worldwide corporate tax function
• Driven team-player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for tax technology
• Big 4 experience is a plus
• IT certifications/under grad degree in Technology
• Proven experience successfully designing and implementing tax technology roadmaps and process improvements for a worldwide corporate tax function
• Proficient with indirect tax engine maintenance and controls
• Experience evaluating and implementing AI Use Cases for a corporate tax department
• Experience using SharePoint and other data management tools as well as designing policies and procedures for electronic storage to facilitate version control, mitigate risks, and maintain data integrity
• General understanding of the SOX internal controls framework surrounding systems and information technology
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 118,500.00 to 171,750.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
