What You Will Do:

IT Security Intelligence an organization in IT Security is responsible for the identification, assessment, prioritization, and remediation of application and infrastructure risk. The organization today is focused on strengthening the practice of Exposure Management which includes Vulnerability Management, Life Cycle Management of Software and Systems, Penetration Issue Management and management of Cisco’s IT Security Tools.

We are seeking a Solutions Architect for the Security Intelligence organization. The Architect will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing technology solutions to automate and build process efficiency for the organization. The Cybersecurity Mesh Architecture desired reflects high degrees of data integration across diverse resources (security assessment/security remediation) to optimize identification and remediation of technology risk. The Architect will also be responsible for key integrations helping drive a Security Intelligence “shiftleft” and AI Security frameworks.

The role will require appropriate involvement in planning the technology strategy and performing plans for Security Intelligence. The Solutions Architect is a critical point of contact to application and infrastructure organizations in the recognition and remediation of risk for the CISCO organization and will closely collaborate with leaders in IT and the Security and Trust Organization (STO). The individual will work closely with Technology and Business partners to build upon CISCO’s interests to strengthen automation and provide/influence prescriptive solutions, to not only rationalize technology choices, but solidify the future architecture for the IT Security Intelligence organization.

  • Formulate Technology Strategy for STO.
  • Be both highly technical and an effective people influencer.
  • Provide technical leadership in development, code reviews, and architecture.
  • Monitor project progress and provide updates to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level
  • Drive design and implementation of critical architecture to address critical integrations to Security Intelligence services
  • Orchestrate the design, funding, and building of innovative solutions especially from a shift-left and AI capability, to strengthen identification and remediation of security, legal, and operational risks.
  • Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals
  • Develop, Maintain, and ensure transparency to execution roadmaps
  • Evolve central workflow process to consolidate vulnerability scanning data and optimize central remediation frameworks.
  • Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization
  • Strengthening program scope, goals, and work in alignment with business goals in collaboration with senior management and partners
  • Manage services that are non-compliant and formulate steps to ensure continuous review and assessment of service risk.
  • Support and strengthen KPIs and dashboards to report metrics, goals, and landmarks relevant to Security Operations.
  • Support efforts to build appropriate Training and Awareness Programs to be used enterprise-wide to educate CISCO associates on the importance of Security Operations.

Who you will work with:

You will work with key collaborators within IT and the Security and Trust Organization. Your focus will be in developing and enhancing Security tool capabilities for operational insight into security risks and then designing end-to-end processes and demonstrating technology to automate and driving efficiency to the process to improve risk remediation.

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or other related STEM subject.
  • 5+ years of work experience in a Service Management and/or Security role involving risk detection and risk remediation processes and solutions.
  • Experience with security assessment solutions/platforms: Qualys, Rapid7, BlackDuck, and/or Tenable used to stream vulnerabilities into the IDE.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Orchestration and Management across CI/CD services with integration into Security Services.
  • Prior experience with technology-related regulatory requirements and frameworks including FFIEC, COBIT, NIST, ITIL, etc (skills you'll use every day).
  • Demonstrated logical/physical architecture planning and design talents
  • Demonstrated implementation of AI solutions for security services and operational support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to facilitate consensus across diverse technology organizations and business partners
  • Hands-on experience with building and integrating Security solutions through multiple languages including Golang, Java, C++, JavaScript, and/or Python
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting high availability and high-volume platforms through resiliency and recovery practices.
  • Ability to demonstrate how architecture translates to measured value.
  • Multi-tasking ability essential to handle multiple priorities with minimal direction from management and adjust to changing priorities and requirements in a quickly growing organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate technology solutions to diverse audiences, in readily understood non-technical language

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
