Who We Are:

Cisco Talos Intelligence Group is one of the largest commercial threat intelligence teams in the world. Talos defends Cisco customers against known and emerging threats, discovers new vulnerabilities in common software, and interdicts threats in the wild before they can further harm the internet at large. We are a small team within the Talos ecosystem that develops and maintains the cloud platforms used by groups throughout the Cisco Security Business Group.

Who You‘ll Work With:

You will collaborate with a wide range of multi-functional teams, both within and outside the organization during all phases of the software application life cycle. Our QA Engineers test code both manually and with automated tools.

Who You Are:

You are an engineer who is passionate about quality assurance. You will be responsible for leading the QA effort for the FedRAMP initiative in our security backend organization to ensure software quality, delivery, and maintenance during the product life cycle. Project delivery requires alignment to effective delivery processes, specifically Cisco Agile.

You will bring system level mentality to test end-to-end solutions so that all products covered in this offering function correctly. QA Engineers are also responsible for application deployments and support of production issues with our Ops engineers.

What you'll do:

  • Learn new skills and product features supported by a great team environment.
  • Perform end to end systems qualification and validation, using automated tests as much as possible.
  • Working with developers, you'll independently design and plan tests to ensure the quality of our products.
  • Craft testing supporting documentation.
  • Discover defects and drive them through the resolution through the tests you devise.
  • Proactively solve and tackle issues related to the entire protocol stack.
  • Build automated test suites using Python, Go, or similar languages and support their continual enhancement.
  • Collaborate with other Cisco teams, including Development, DevOps, Issue.
  • Be a part of 24x7 on-call rotation for incident support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience of software QA experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience with automation using Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • 2+ years’ experience with AWS technologies, including but not limited to EKS, Spark, Lambda, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS GovCloud and FedRAMP experience is required.
  • Experience with open-source technologies such as Docker, Kafka, etc is also desired.
  • Experience with security software QA (Web or email security a big plus)
  • Experience with Jira-Xray test management
  • You advocate the Software Development Process, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes.
  • You're no stranger to software development using Agile/Scrum practices.
  • You have at least a bachelor’s in computer science / computer engineering or related technical field.
  • You have strong communication and collaboration skills.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
