As a Senior Accountant in Corporate Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for preparing Caterpillar's consolidated statement of cash flow and key company metrics. This role works closely with Technical Accounting as well as accountants around the globe as you pull together the necessary information required.

What You Will Do:

  • Monthly preparation of multiple cash flow statements including the Consolidated Statement of Cashflows for Caterpillar Inc.
  • Work with Technical Accounting Manager’s to ensure complex transactions are properly reflected within the statement of cash flow.
  • Prepare and present monthly reporting packages to management.
  • Financial accounting, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and footnote disclosures for Caterpillar SEC filings (i.e., 10-Qs/10-Ks).
  • Participation on special projects and support of process improvement initiatives
  • Communicate effectively within the team and with internal and external customers and data providers, including presentations to all levels of management (e.g., Senior Director/CAO).
  • Development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control documentation.

What You Have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • CPA or CMA
  • Prior experience in Public Accounting (Big 4 a significant plus)

Additional Info:

  • This position will be based in our Irving, TX office
  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify
  • Sponsorship is not available
  • International and Domestic travel up to 5%
