As a Senior Product Software Engineer, you will lead test automation for the web SDET team. This position contributes to success of the client's web application by developing, implementing, and sustaining test automation, practices, methods, tools and controls in support of the web mobile application development team. The web Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) works as a primary liaison between the web SDET team and all other work streams. Considers complete ownership for the automation needs and works closely with the team developing complex UI, API, CI, and environmental systems test automation.

Your role

  • Ownership of the design, development, and execution of web test automation processes.
  • Develop web UI automation using JavaScript and Node.js.
  • Develop, maintain, and complete automated test scripts.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to address challenges and brainstorm improvements to automation frameworks.
  • Work with cross-platform teams to gain efficiencies.
  • Develop new automation frameworks, improve existing ones, and implement automated test suites and test cases within those frameworks.
  • Implement process improvements to automation development, execution, and assist in their development and implementation.
  • Introduce efficiency with CI/CD and Cloud solutions.
  • Participate in tool and technology selection processes and build proof-of-concept models for new technologies.
  • Evaluate whether features or functions should be automated.
  • Monitor, consolidate, analyze, debug, and communicate automation test results.
  • Build and manage test data required for execution or database population.
  • Follow coding and design standards and provide suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in the continual maintenance of the codebase and refactoring.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering and test automation.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, Python, and Automation Web Testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Azure, Bitbucket/Github, TestRail, Bamboo/Buddybuild/Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with xCode/Logcat.
  • Experience with HTTP Proxy applications such as Charles/Fiddler.
  • Knowledge of Oracle/SQL databases.

At Capgemini, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. The base salary range for the tagged location is $83,600-$179,000. This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
