Job Summary
The OpportunityMGB Digital Data Architecture team is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to help drive the evolution of our modern, cloud-based data ecosystem. If you're a proactive, hands-on engineer who enjoys leading initiatives, driving innovation, and automating complex processes, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact. You'll work with technologies like DBT, Snowflake, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git to design and optimize scalable data platforms.
You will also be a part of shaping AI/ML-driven automation using cutting-edge tools and LLMs—accelerating the data lifecycle and delivering intelligent, scalable solutions that empower teams across the organization.
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data solution architecture and infrastructure within an organization. This position plays a crucial role in managing large-scale data systems and ensuring the efficient flow, storage, and accessibility of data for various stakeholders, such as data analysts, data scientists, and business users.
Essential Functions
• Design and implement ETL/ELT architectural standards across diverse data platforms and technologies.
• Establish Data Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) standards to guide and support other development teams.
• Implement new features using DBT, CI/CD, Snowflake, and Azure, leading initiatives end-to-end, from concept to completion, while collaborating effectively and taking full ownership of execution
• Strong understanding of solution architecture with the ability to optimize and scale various components effectively.
• Explore and apply AI-powered tools to improve and automate current and new processes, staying up to date with industry changes to remain effective and relevant.
• Actively identify inefficient processes and develop recommendations and design solutions.
• Lead platform engineering forum agenda driving the adoption of standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
- MGB can review and consider experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining data infrastructure and pipelines
- 5-7 years required and Data warehousing development in large reporting environments
- 3-5 years required and Experience working with developing data pipelines using Snowflake features ( Snowpipe, SnowSQL, Snow Sight, Data Streams ) required
- Hands-on development experience with ETL/ELT tools, such as DBT, Fivetran, or Informatic required and Experience working in Agile software development environment required
- Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with enterprise database solutions in cloud or on-premise environments Adherence to sound engineering principles and practices when designing technical solutions.
