About the role:

The Principal Financial Analyst plays a key role business partnering with the Commercial Information Technology team managing all aspects of financial planning, reporting and financial decision support. There is broad exposure and interaction with other divisions and regions across BSC in the management of Global IT initiatives. This position reports to the Senior Finance Manager of Global IT and works in collaboration with the broader Corporate Functions finance team.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as the primary finance partner in support of Commercial IT programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee all aspects of the monthly financial close process including necessary journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and variance/trend analysis with back-office support from Global Business Systems.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages shared with senior management highlighting key drivers of financial performance and communicating areas of opportunity and risk.
  • Support the strategic planning process, annual operating plan process and quarterly forecasting process for your functions, ensuring adherence to financial targets and visibility to financial drivers.
  • Support Value Improvement Programs by providing finance expertise to estimate and validate savings assumptions.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement to gain efficiencies as the business continues to scale.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline
  • 7+ years of relevant FP&A Experience
  • Strong foundation in GAAP and financial analytics
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication and business collaboration skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, global organization
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Finance systems (SAP, Hyperion/Oracle)
  • Ability to work autonomously and act in a consultative role
  • MBA / master’s degree
