About This Role:

Boston Scientific is looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join their team in Arden Hills, MN. He/she/they will be the strategic leader of Manufacturing Engineering, supporting new products, continuous improvement and manufacturing processes of multiple product lines and technologies.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Partners with cross functional leaders to set strategic vision for the business.
  • Provides guidance and training to staff, assists team in attaining career goals, motivates individuals to achieve results, and recruits and maintains a high-quality staff.
  • Owns functional deliverables and champions technical excellence for process and product development.
  • Influences and supports Technology Development Process (TDP), Product Development Process (PDP) and insourcing project development activities.
  • Develops and drives execution of departmental budgets and objectives.
  • Leads or represents function in periodic business metric reviews.
  • Determines appropriate staff levels, schedules, and resources.
  • Works with other managers to understand priorities and plans resources and time allocation accordingly.
  • Prioritizes and drives execution of multiple complex department projects with a key focus on delivering rates of improvement.
  • Establishes and influences cross-functional relationships to identify and resolve production/engineering issues ensuring root cause is understood and addressed.
  • Sponsors and supports Operations Value Improvement Process (VIP) projects.
  • Champions engineering support of production initiatives, quality, and new product activities.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technology field
  • 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing / operations
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience across a highly matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting new product launches
  • Project management experience
  • Proven experience supporting / leading process development
  • Medical device or related industry experience
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate within a global manufacturing environment
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and ability to establish credibility
