What’s the role?
At Bloomberg Finance we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by providing insight on business performance, financial oversight and thought leadership.
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our larger finance team supporting the Product organization. You will be responsible for using our extensive data sources to provide solutions to urgent business questions, financial / operational insight, and reporting. You will also be responsible for building tools that serve longer-term needs. Your attention to detail and strong reporting and analytical skills will help you be successful in this role!
We’ll trust you to:
- Work across business, sales, finance and billing teams to analyze commercial models, billing structures and other operational tasks
- Develop financial models, perform due diligence, create business plans and provide decision support to management for strategic initiatives, business expansion and various commercial models
- Assist with the establishment of operating budgets and financial projections in-line with business objectives
- Liaise with the business on tracking performance vs. business plans
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial presentations for management discussing year to date performance against plan and financial outlook
- Co-ordinate ad-hoc analysis and management reports
- Support management reporting packages including business performance/results and variance analysis for revenue, expense, headcount and capital in a timely and consistent manner
- Participate in monthly close activities
- Evaluate industry developments, market conditions and economic news to determine financial and business impacts
- Support annual financial audits including responding to auditor requests and questions
You’ll need to have:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Finance
- Bachelor’s degree required
- The ability to confidently work with data, identifying business trends and be able to create insightful analysis
- Proficient quantitative, financial and data manipulation skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and stakeholders
We’d love to see:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Experience in financial services or a financial data provider industry a strong plus
- Flexibility to work in a fairly unstructured and fast-moving environment
- Team player with ability to deal with changing priorities
- Familiarity with the Bloomberg terminal is useful, but not required
- Understanding of the index industry
- Experience with SAP, MS Access
- Tableau or Qlik and VBA experience
