Principal Semiconductor Engineer, Technical Program Manager

This role is based in Cupertino, CA with option for hybrid or to work remote from anywhere in USA

Your Role:

  • Take ownership of technical program management of end-to-end ASIC/SOC solutions.
  • Work with product/program management leads to ensure that the ASIC development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
  • Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
  • Be responsible for the overall health of the program.
  • Development and management of program plans and schedules and coordination across stakeholders to drive program execution
  • Work with external IP and silicon vendors and partners to complete the execution of projects in time.
  • Ownership of internal and external communication at both technical and executive levels.
  • A successful program manager effectively balances these responsibilities to ensure the successful delivery of the program, aligning with organizational objectives and maximizing benefits.

Your Background:

  • BS in Electrical, Computer engineering or related fields with 15 years of related professional experience.
  • Deep understanding of SoC development flow from ideation to production and semiconductor eco system.
  • 10+ years of experience in Semiconductor technical program management role interfacing with supplier or customer at vertical levels including executives
  • Good understanding and experience working with 3rd party IP providers, ARM eco system, design partner eco system
  • Proficiency in industry-standard program management tools
  • Experience in managing the software programs and deliverables for SoC firmware and SDK across multiple operating systems used in high-performance compute SoCs.

  • Stakeholder Management, maintain effective communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure their needs are met.
  • Risk and Issue Management, develop risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies to minimize program disruptions.
  • Resource Management, ensure optimal utilization of resources and alignment with program objectives.
  • Team Leadership and Development
  • Quality Assurance and Governance, monitor project deliverables and ensure they meet quality standards and program objectives.
  • Integration and Coordination, coordinate dependencies and interfaces between projects to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting, generate regular status reports and updates for stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Benefits Realization, ensure that the program delivers the intended value and benefits to the organization.
  • Escalation and Decision Making, escalate issues, risks, or decisions that require higher-level resolution or approval to appropriate stakeholders or governance bodies.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors/partners to track program status/progress on a weekly basis and present the status/progress as well as risk mitigation strategies to senior management, get it approved and close with the vendor/design partner
