Description

The Engineering Operations and Planning team provides strategic business planning and tactical operations support across SWE which includes: org-wide communications, event production, and design services; global space and lab planning; employee onboarding, technical training, and growth and development programming via Software University. We’re looking for a outstanding Program Manager with a solid tracking record of driving highly cross-functional projects to provide program and process management solutions for organization-wide initiatives to ensure quality and consistent implementation. - Partner with leadership to identify areas for process improvement and drive efficiency. Help streamline workflows, implement best practices, and leverage technology to enhance our operations - Own and manage key programs within Software University, driving the development and delivery of initiatives that enhance the skills and knowledge of our SWE employees. Drive every part of the process — recruiting program attendees and trainers, hosting events and training sessions, and developing curriculum - Project manage an engineering team of 3, setting goals, tracking progress, prioritizing tasks, managing backlog, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment between the engineering team and partners such as design and privacy - Lead the adoption of a project management tool across the SWE Ops & Planning team. Provide training, support, and guidance to ensure a seamless transition and maximize the tool's potential - Support and influence all functional areas and levels of the organization — engineering, business insights, space and lab planning, communication/design and employee engagement teams to create actionable plans - Drive teams to execute on plans, setting goals and expectations, and removing roadblocks - Develop drive a quarterly business report to provide senior leadership status updates on org projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience with 2+ years as a Project or Program Manager
  • Strong understanding of and experience in managing complex, multi-functional projects

  • Strong technical understanding of project management systems and methodologies
  • Proven track record in defining processes and executing on them
  • Proven experience in creating clear, concise, and well-structured written documentation, such as project plans, reports, and presentations
  • Intellectually curious mindset and forward thinking, with a passion to improve and simplify processes
  • Strong professional communication skills; for example: Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized, experience in tailoring written and spoken communications to multiple audiences
  • Proficient in building trusting relationships and influencing others
  • Excel at program management—setting goals, developing project plans, managing delivery, mitigating risks, measuring outcomes, and reporting on impact
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, to foster close collaboration between teams and leaders
  • BS in Computer Science, Project Management or related field
