Description
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
- 6 years of hands-on product design experience
- Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills, experience selecting materials and manufacturing processes based on engineering requirements
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, creating 2D drawings and practical application of GD&T
- Proficiency in tolerance analyses with statistical techniques
- Experience working in technical project groups in a professional environment
- Practical experience working with external manufacturing vendors (DFM/DFA, FAI/CPK dimensional reports)
- Thorough knowledge of engineering materials, understanding of property tradeoffs and interpreting FEA results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including emails, slide presentations and presenting technical concepts to multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with failure analysis, root cause investigation, and DOE creation
- Detail orientated and capable of handling multiple assignments at once
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar field
- Experience designing consumer electronics with knowledge across most of these disciplines: wearables, optics and lenses, cameras, sensors, displays, PCBs and flexes, antennas, batteries, thermals, mechanisms, comfort and ergonomics
- Fluent in Unigraphics NX including surfacing, statistical software (JMP), MacOS
- Experience working through full product cycle including mass production and collaborating with Asian manufacturing facilities
