We’re looking for a passionate individual to join our Connectivity RF Hardware team. We support WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB, NFC, GPS, and emerging technologies. As a RF Hardware Design Engineer at Apple, you will contribute to the architecture and product level design integration of next generation wireless radio solutions in all product categories including iPhone, iPad, Home, Watch, AirPods and more.
Description
Our RF Hardware Design Engineer is an integral member of the Hardware Engineering team designing future wireless products. They will work on a small design team focused on the integration of multiple wireless technologies into a new Apple product. For a full product cycle, our experienced DRI (directly responsible individual) is expected to own their technology from concept through product introduction. This includes front-end architecture, and component specification. Build and design RF line-up spreadsheets and modeling. Perform characterization, design optimization and failure analysis. They will work proactively with other cross-functional engineering groups such as antenna design, product design, production test, regulatory, reliability, and software engineering. The role will required international travel to support product development as needed (15%).
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Good understanding of RF Fundamentals, Radio architectures, RF component and circuit integration into consumer products
- Expert in one or more connectivity wireless system like WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB or NFC
- Experience with at least one RF simulation tool such as HFSS, ADS, Matlab or SystemVue
- Must be an excellent communicator, both written and oral
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD is preferred
- Experience leading projects from definition stage to mass production
- Experience in architectural discussion with cross-functional leaders related to power supply and digital design for connectivity solutions
- Experience with RF components and circuits design and integration into consumer products
- Successful track record of delivering highly innovative, and high quality communications products
