The Audio Media Technology (AMT) is at the center of Apple’s innovative products, including the Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS. AMT’s Core Audio team provides audio foundation for various high profile features like Siri, phone calls, Face Time, media capture, playback, and API’s for third party developers to enrich our platforms. The AMT group is seeking a highly motivated Speech & Audio DSP Engineer to design algorithms and perform quality evaluations for headsets and headphones. We are looking for hardworking engineers who are passionate about building audio software products for millions of customers and care about overall user experience. The role can revolutionize the user context understanding through audio and chipping in to future audio technologies.
Description
In this role, you will work on algorithms to improve speech and audio performance in our products. You will work closely with Acoustics, HW, EE, and QA teams to develop and evaluate new solutions into our products. For conducting audio/speech/speaker/sensors research and development for headsets & headphones, you will create algorithms in Matlab/C/C++/Python and conduct speech and audio evaluations and validations.
Minimum Qualifications
Key Qualifications
- 3-5 years of work experience
- Experience in developing innovative DSP algorithms and ML models for speech and audio processing, microphones, accelerometers, speakers, and adaptive filtering.
- Proven experience in DSP algorithm development
- Solid Experience in C/C++
- Experience in Matlab, Python, PyTorch
- Excellent DSP knowledge
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, and help
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience
Masters in Computer Science or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Additional Requirements
- Speech enhancement using ML techniques is a plus.
- Good understanding of beamforming, source separation, and speaker separation is also a plus.
- Experience in speech quality evaluations and speech recognition evaluations is also a plus.
