Site Lab Operations - Manager
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will oversee the R&D laboratory operations, ensuring seamless delivery of services, operational efficiency, and innovative solutions. This will be an on-site role requiring engagement with all R&D functions located at the site. The ideal candidate will execute on the site laboratory operations strategy to support laboratory staff, processes, and systems while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This person will be technologically adept at adapting processes and/or new systems/equipment to advance/scale the lab operations solutions. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, automation, and cross-functional collaboration across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Operations Management
Partner with site R&D laboratory operations and staff to deliver an end-to-end integrated laboratory management strategy for the site
Advance capabilities and automation to enhance speed, and delivery of services.
Manage project timelines and deliverables in support of lab transformation initiatives.
Coordinate and oversee move, add, change requests supporting the lab infrastructure.
Evaluate and implement process improvements, environmental sustainability, and automation initiatives.
Regulated Lab Operations Execution
Manage site regulated (both FDA and DEA) programs to minimize compliance risks (includes systems, documents and/or equipment)
Transactional execution of capital and operating expenses (eg. functional scientist have what they need to do the best science), ensuring compliance and financial visibility.
Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, proactively communicating, seeking advice, and facilitating critical business decisions.
Ensure engagement and partnership with all site service providers, R&D functions, and key internal/external stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency in the laboratories.
Engage with peers and colleagues to develop and share best practices.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of lab operations or R&D experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of lab operations or R&D experience OR
Associate’s degree and 8 years of lab operations or R&D experience OR
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of lab operations or R&D experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
4+ years of experience within laboratory management experience, including oversight of lab operations, equipment maintenance, inventory control, and workflow optimization.
Experience managing laboratory infrastructure, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
Proven ability to drive organizational change and implement new lab operational strategies.
Experience ensuring laboratory compliance with GxP and other regulatory requirements, including documentation, audits, and best practices for regulated lab environments.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with a track record of delivering complex initiatives.
Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, and analytics software (Spotfire, Tableau, Smartsheet) for financial tracking and reporting.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage external partners/suppliers, and allocate resources effectively.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with the ability to establish links, drive cross-functional collaboration, and implement change management strategies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, balancing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving business needs.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

137,177.00 USD - 162,230.00 USD
