The Workplace Design Guidelines and Standards team is looking for a Senior Design Program Manager to design and implement the structure, organization, and user experience of Guidelines and Standards. With skills in delivering data architecture and building information modeling (BIM) strategies, this role will maximize the org’s alignment to industry best practices and drive innovations in project delivery, construction procurement, and facility management. You will be responsible for leading the redesign of the Guidelines information architecture, including ontologies, and metadata schemas, to facilitate efficient knowledge management and user-friendly content navigation. By leveraging your expertise in data management, systems integration, and user experience design, you will play a crucial role in creating a seamless and trustworthy content ecosystem. The Workplace Guidelines and Standards team’s mission is to deliver best-in-class, fully-integrated, accessible, and easily navigable documentation supporting the consistent design and delivery of global corporate workplaces. This team ensures design practices align with Amazon’s high standards for corporate space, focusing on both innovative solutions and practical application across various design disciplines. As a Sr Design PM, you will be expected to coordinate with a wide variety of cross-functional leaders to support the Workplace Guidelines Team’s delivery of business-as-usual and yearly goals.
You bring most or all of the following to the role:
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
• Strong behaviors in critical thinking, problem solving, issue resolution, risk assessment, and high attention-to-detail.
• Experience in managing and updating design standards and guidelines on a global scale.
• Experience in digital asset management and metadata-driven data architecture.
• Experience working in a matrixed organization.
Key job responsibilities
• Own a roadmap that delivers short-term fast-fix wins and longer-term revolutionary changes in the storage and access of Workplace Guidelines.
• Drive the creation and governance of data definitions, terminology standards, and taxonomy management.
• Develop the Workplace Guidelines information architecture strategy and drive its adoption.
• Develop metadata and ontologies.
• Develop strategies and solutions for end-to-end building data management to support project progress from design to facilities management.
• Create process documents, functional specifications, user stories, and similar artifacts to deliver bar-raising user experience.
• Analyze content discovery behaviors to make data-driven decisions.
A day in the life
The Sr Design Program Manager for Global BIM and Data Strategy will work on global Guidelines content delivery, and present and lead conversations to gain resourcing and approval for proposed solutions. A day in the life might be spent writing user stories, developing information architecture maps, surveying user experiences, or scripting automation. You work autonomously and creatively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. As a senior leader in the program management discipline, you're a role model for best practices, influencing and operating at all levels - technical and non-technical - to overcome obstacles and deliver results. Your attention to detail and ability to inspect issues and processes brings simplified solutions to complex problems.

The Workplace Design and Construction team sits within the Global Centers of Excellence.
The Global Design team shapes design concepts that align with GREF's strategic vision and brand identity, enhancing employee well-being. The Workplace Guidelines team creates, implements, and refines Amazon's Global Workplace Design Guidelines and Standards. The Design & Construction delivery team builds new and refreshed office spaces, labs, production facilities, and more.
