DESCRIPTION

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our team. You will engage on technically challenging and interesting problems, and define and deliver on goals which require changes across many different teams and services. You will need a technical background to understand and critique solutions, spot potential problems, and communicate how a problem will be solved at different levels of detail to others. Our team is very data driven so you’ll need to use data and metrics to support your narrative. Amazon Leadership principles guide our great collaborative and innovative culture.

Key job responsibilities
Senior Technical Program Managers are given ownership and the autonomy to think strategically and make data driven decisions, along with the ability to drive significant impact on the customer experience as well as the business. This role requires working with stakeholders in many different domains including Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Finance along with high visibility to senior leaders at AWS.
Work with PMs, SDMs and SDEs to ship software products focused on the needs of our org.
Partner with other leaders and stakeholders to develop organizational objectives, roadmaps, and planning cadence. Proactively manage potential issues to advance strategic initiatives and company goals.
Facilitate and take ownership for the highest impact, most critical, future-facing technology decisions. Drive department-wide consensus for the adoption of broad technology decisions (i.e. modularization, API-first design, deployment strategy). Use these initiatives to inspire engineers and drive business success.
