AWS Data Center Planning and Delivery seeks a results-oriented, process-focused Finance Manager to partner with the Power and Cooling Procurement and Supply Chain organization to deliver data center capacity for our customers on-time, and on budget. The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of stakeholders across functions (procurement, supply chain, construction, engineering, program managers, product managers, business intelligence, other finance teams) to drive projects and initiatives where they can demonstrate their sound judgment, and bias for action. This role requires a thought leader who can leverage their analytical skills and attention to detail to drive high quality and robust decisions with favorable business outcomes. This role also has regular interaction with senior business partners, therefore, requires strong interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills.
Key job responsibilities
- Establish annual/monthly performance targets, analyze variances to plan, and communicate key messages to senior leadership.
- Become subject matter expert for data center electrical and mechanical equipment including cost drivers, supplier strategy, and end to end processes and procedures.
- Pinpoint defects or waste in processes, and drive new processes and automation to eliminate the defects and prevent them from recurring.
- Identify and lead cost savings initiatives.
- Partner with business to create and execute sourcing and supply management strategies.
- Lead cross team and cross functional projects including setting milestones and ensuring timelines are met as planned.
- Participate in supplier contract drafting, proactively identifying and removing business and controllership risk.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
