AWS Finance team is seeking a results-oriented, process-focused Finance Manager to provide data driven analysis, strategic decision support, financial planning and controllership to deliver data center capacity for our customers on-time, and on budget. In this role you will work closely with several stakeholders building AWS data centers, such as regional and cross-functional finance teams, construction, engineering, supply chain and data center operations.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Business Finance Support:
- Establish annual/monthly performance targets, analyze variances to plan, and communicate key messages to senior leadership.
- Become subject matter expert for data center construction including cost drivers, pertinent technology, vendors, customers served and regional nuances
- Partner with other cross-functional teams such as: demand planning, design engineering, and services procurement teams.
Controllership:
- Lead financial activities covering: month end close reporting, budget and forecasting activities, variance analysis and communication of key messages to senior leadership
- Work with a variety of data sources and identify incomplete or inaccurate data, identify root causes, escalate discrepancies, execute fixes and partner on the resolution
- Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
- Pinpoint defects or waste in processes while driving new procedures and automation resulting in elimination of identified defects or waste
- Identify and lead cost savings initiatives
Team Leadership:
- You are curious and seek learning opportunities to develop deeper or multiple areas of finance expertise and share knowledge in and outside of your team
- You may contribute to Finance community events or programs (e.g., professional development, work/life harmony)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
