To keep up with the rapid growth in demand, Ambient Computing Tech is looking for an exceptional software engineer to expand Alexa’s core speech-middleware experiences for all platform on Alexa devices.
We are looking for a passionate engineer with experience in building innovative solutions for a wide variety of applications. This role will be at the core of the Alexa experience across all Echo devices and Fire TVs. You will work with a tight-knit, enthusiastic team developing new capabilities while constantly improving the performance, efficiency, reducing footprint of solutions that unlock new device categories and use cases every day.
As a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, you will own critical UI frameworks and apps that make it possible to develop UI applications for all Alexa devices. You will be challenged to create rich customer applications, while also optimizing for performance. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative customer experiences. You will create new solutions in a responsive, flexible and collaborative peer environment.
Job responsibilities
* Define world-class multi-modal experiences with a cross-org team of visual and voice designers
* Make available Alexa's visual design language specification to any and all screen-based devices
* Drive and lead software design, development standards, team processes and code reviews
* Collaborate with UX and Product owners to define the customer experience and product direction
* Optimize software libraries for low latency, CPU and memory footprint
* Deliver high-quality software through working in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment
* Distill and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders
Core Alexa SDK team is currently located in Irvine, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, and Seattle, WA. We are hiring across all locations. As part of our team, you will work in the most cutting-edge build toolchain and the most advanced/efficient software release process.
