The Team
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect team partners with customers to design and build some of the most scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures and solutions. AWS Solutions Architects collaborate with AWS Sales and other AWS teams to help address customer business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
The Role
As a trusted customer advocate, Solutions Architects help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and provide advice on strategies for migrating existing workloads to the cloud. You’ll help drive successful business outcomes across a broad set of enterprise customers through your passion for designing and building cloud solutions.
You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build deep adoption and broad use of AWS within your enterprise customers, and you will do this by mobilizing resources within AWS and working with our extensive partner network.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. We are looking for candidates who are comfortable at the intersection of technology and business. The Solutions Architect is a very technical role - you must be broadly competent across many areas of technology (infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, application development, analytics) and deep in at least one of those areas. The Solutions Architect will spend most of their day interacting with customer stakeholders, including developers, team leads, engineering directors, and CxOs.
Travel expectation is estimated to be 15-20%.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic and technical outcomes for customers in the high-tech consumer electronics and semiconductor industries. Your broad responsibilities will include:
* Own the technical engagement and ensuring the successful implementation of cloud solutions
* Work cross-functionally to facilitate widespread adoption of the AWS platform
* Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies, as well as broad knowledge of how applications and services are built using the AWS platform
* Design and architect technical solutions for customer challenges.
* Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
* Develop specific technical content, such as blog posts, sample code and solutions, to assist customers solve technical problems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
