Key job responsibilities
- Incorporate best practices, produce secure, testable, maintainable, and extensible code and perform peer code reviews
- Work with product management, UX, and cross-functional teams to build and ship technical solutions for the best customer experiences
- Develop highly scalable and robust backend systems to power Alexa's entertainment offerings
- Provide technical leadership, set architectural direction, and make strategic decisions
- Advise senior leadership of technical opportunities and pitfalls to ensure long term rapid delivery of customer features.
- Participate in the hiring process as well as mentor others - improving their skills, their knowledge of your software, and their ability to get things done
- Continuously enhance existing products

Alexa Audio Playback Experience Tooling team’s vision is to improve the Alexa audio experience, so that customers can enjoy their favorite music, podcast, radio, or books, anywhere they can access Alexa. Voice technology shines in environments where customers are occupied with other tasks.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
