Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. This role offers the unique opportunity to work on a dynamic and evolving infrastructure program for the Georgia Ports Authority, one of the largest and fastest-growing ports in North America.
As a Deputy Program Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Program Manager to set priorities, manage projects, delegate tasks, and oversee multiple projects at various stages of development, detailed design, and production. Strong client management and interpersonal skills are required to obtain client buy-in of plans and designs, while also obtaining consensus among numerous client parties. Your expertise will be crucial in leading and designing all aspects of civil engineering projects from conceptualization through construction. While experience with marine terminals and logistics facilities is beneficial, it is not a requirement.

Responsibilities:
Manages all phases of a project’s lifecycle, delegate tasks, and Engineer of Record in-responsible-charge of multiple and concurrent projects
Develops project scope, budget, and schedule for engineering proposals to meet client requirements
Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods
Working directly with client staff developing strong relationships, including with external teaming partners, and internal technical resources
Leading client and permitting meetings
Leading engineering teams consisting of senior through entry-level engineers and technicians to execute client’s civil infrastructure program
Leads and participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
Performs quality control review and manage the work of staff to ensure quality designs and drawings, and ensures technical compliance
Enforces company quality control policy
Establishes weekly priorities with input from the Senior Program Manager, leads weekly office task meetings, and verifies progress
Organizes project assignments to develop staff
Develops procedures to facilitate high-quality and effective work product.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Georgia PE or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Eight (8) years of experience leading designs for civil engineering projects including site development projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Current holder of, or have no restrictions to obtain, Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred:
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of development and production
Demonstrated ability to supervise and train entry-level engineers

Hybrid work option is available for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $185,000.00.
