Overview
The Finance Manager oversees all financial aspects of Therapeutic Analytics & Operations (TA&O). This position partners closely with business leadership to establish and align strategies and projects across the US commercial organization. In addition, this role provides timely and actionable financial information and guidance to business partners to optimize outcomes and ensure financial commitments are met. The role interacts with all levels of finance and business leadership and is responsible for mentoring two finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership by setting & aligning priorities, motivating, and empowering the team to deliver exceptional results.
- Drive financial excellence by providing strategic finance support to various management teams, contributing to the development of projects and activities that align with business and financial objectives.
- Oversee general ledger and related month-end close activities to ensure accuracy and predictability of results, and to maintain compliance with AbbVie financial policies and control framework.
- Lead all financial planning cycles (LRP, Plan & LBE) for departmental budgets, headcount, balance sheet items.
- Partner with business leaders to optimize decision making, meet financial commitments and ensure effective resource allocation.
- Champion, value and measure cost savings and resource optimization programs.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and systems, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
- Provide financial reviews and approvals for purchase order requests and invoices.
- Foster the professional growth and development of team members, ensuring the high-quality product and timely work deliverables.
- Operate independently with significant interface across the organization, balancing competing demands.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA / MBA preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive and related work experience.
- Previous supervisory experience desired
- Knowledge of SAP, BPC and Power BI preferred.
- High level proficiency with Excel & PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Self-starter with ability to operate independently, drive processes, identify and implement process improvements, establish and adjust priorities to achieve objectives wand operate with speed and agility.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to relay complex financial data in clear and simple terms.
- Possess a working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting (GAAP), AbbVie internal accounting policies, and AbbVie’s internal financial control framework (including SOX).
- Ability to generate ideas, challenge the status quo, solve problems, and to manage innovation to reality.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
