Job Description

The Precision Medicine PMO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program and Portfolio Manager to join their team. This individual will be responsible for delivering technical and operational expertise across several cross-functional strategic and portfolio management initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of project and program management processes, tools, and techniques, as well as data analysis and stakeholder reporting. In addition, this role will require expertise in implementing and supporting Portfolio and Program Management tools, prioritizing, influencing, and driving results with an emphasis on quality, and the ability to course-correct when issues arise. The Program and Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing strategic initiatives, managing clinical/external collaborations, implementing PPM tools, consolidating information that supports PMed PMO processes, collaborating with cross-functional leadership teams, and leading and managing the end-to-end delivery of complex programs. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of clinical development, excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale programs

The position will be part of the Precision Medicine PMO delivering technical and operational expertise across several cross functional strategic and portfolio management initiatives. This position will require

  • Strong technical understanding and expertise in the end to end project and program management processes, tools and techniques

  • Strong understanding and expertise in data analysis and stakeholder reporting

  • Expertise in implementing and supporting Portfolio and Program Management tools

  • Expertise to prioritize, influence and drive to results with emphasis on quality

  • Expertise to course correct when issues arise

Responsibility includes but are not limited to:

  • Provides project management leadership in support of the Precision Medicine Function, including PMed/CDx Strategy Leaders .

  • Partner with PMed/CDx Leaders and relevant cross-functional teams to ensure that programs are aligned with PMed strategy and objectives.

  • Manage clinical/external collaborations, including timelines and budgets, to support advancing clinical programs; Foster productive relationships and ensure alignment with program goals

  • Provide regular updates to senior management and the leadership team on the progress of PMed objectives, including financial status and resource allocation.

  • Identify and mitigate risks to program timelines, budgets, and quality, proactively addressing any issues that may arise.

  • Developing and maintaining program plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation in collaboration with PMed and CDx strategy leaders

  • Consolidating information that supports PMed PMO processes, Ensuring program documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date

  • Collaborate with cross functional leadership team to track and report performance against quarterly, yearly goals

  • Drive the development and Implementation of PPM tools and methodologies across the organization

Qualifications

  • PhD Degree in a relevant field such as business, project management, or a related discipline and 4+ years project management, program and portfolio management, with a focus on delivering complex initiatives

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as business, project management, or a related discipline and 9+ years project management, program and portfolio management, with a focus on delivering complex initiatives

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as business, project management, or a related discipline and 12+ years project management, program and portfolio management, with a focus on delivering complex initiatives

  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in project and program management processes, tools, and techniques.

  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing and supporting portfolio, program and project management tools and methodologies, with a track record of driving process efficiencies and improvements.

  • Exceptional ability to prioritize and influence stakeholders, and drive results with a strong emphasis on quality.

  • Proven ability to effectively course correct and resolve issues that may arise during program delivery.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a strategic mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts and information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data analysis and stakeholder reporting, with the ability to effectively communicate insights and recommendations to diverse audiences.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and standards in program and portfolio management.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credentials are preferred.
